family friendly kitchen

Kevin and Don recently purchased their dream home complete with gorgeous original wood floors, thick door moldings, and stained wood wainscoting.  The house had been beautifully maintained in its historic condition except for one unfortunate area.  The kitchen had been remodeled in the 70’s with cheap paneling and matching cabinetry. The first order of business was to update the kitchen while staying true to the rest of the home’s architecture.  The wish list included stainless appliances, a place for little ones to help bake cookies or do homework, and a prep sink.  Custom white cabinets take advantage of every inch of available space, and the refrigerator drawers and microwave drawer are easily accessed by smaller family members. Adding thick molding around the doors and windows ties the space into the rest of the house, and the blue lights add a bit of unexpected fun color.
