When Hillary and Carin dream, they go large.  They purchased a great house in a perfect location; it was just a wee bit small.  To make it their own, they remodeled the entire house and added on the equivalent of another house.  The couple wanted to create a place where out-of-state family could feel at home, where friends could help make meals, and where the dining table was big enough to host Thanksgiving dinner.  It always bothered Carin that the sink was not centered under the window, and that the kitchen did not have an island.  Michelle designed a custom open display area to create balance over the nonsymmetrical windows.  Hillary looked at the concept drawings and politely said, “Have you ever seen this anywhere before?” with consternation plainly covering her face.  She trusted her designer, and let her vision drive the cabinet design.  Polished Bamboo granite and gorgeous shell-like backsplash in a classic subway pattern beautifully finishes the kitchen’s warm appeal.  Creating an elevated bar counter where there once was a wall keeps the banter between kitchen and dining room flowing.
